Reflections on the Last Two Months

The last two months have proven to be quite busy. I've been planning and proposing my library's FY12 budget, overseeing execution of the remainder of the current budget, surveying online students, and working with consultants to plan for a new library facility. These important projects have kept me from reading as much as I might have otherwise, but still I've found time to read profitably from Thomas Friedman's The World Is Flat as well as from articles on focus group research, the design of academic spaces, and library research behavior. Currently, I'm in the middle of taking a 4-week course on ethnographic research in libraries. All of these experiences and inputs have spawned some thinking which will ultimately lead me to more competent, innovative professional practice.
