Visual Vita

A curriculum vita (CV) is an academic version of a résumé. Unlike a résumé, a CV is comprehensive and can grow to 10, 15, or more pages.  Frankly, not everyone has the time to read a CV. Books became more accessible as authors and publishers learned to include features such as tables of contents, introductions, and indices. In an effort to make the content of my CV more approachable, a few years ago I distilled it into an image--a word cloud generated by Many Eyes. This visualization displays the 100 most common words from key portions of my CV--duties, accomplishments, publications, presentations, and more. The larger the font size, the more often it occurs in the document. If you really want to read the traditional CV, here's a link to the PDF version.
